Once you've made it through the CV screen and aptitude tests, the next step in the consulting recruitment process is case interviews. To pass a case interview, you’ll need to demonstrate four key abilities that a management consultant needs (you'll also need to demonstrate 4 key 'softer' skills). These are:
One thing that a case interview will usually not test is content knowledge. Your interviewers are looking to assess your potential and not your knowledge on a topic. This means that you should expect to be confronted by cases covering any industry.
Passing a case interview is tough and you'll usually have to get through at least 5 or 6 of them over 2 rounds of recruitment. Practicing the above skills as much as possible (try using these books to help!) will help get you through.
